A Japanese traditional oil (made from cloves) that is applied on the blade of the Shinken (Japanese swords) and whiped off with the Nuguigami. The Choji abura prevents the blade from rusting.
Choji oil for sword is actually a mix of Choji oil and mineral based oil, known to be the best mix for Tamahagane (Shinken steel) maintenance.

A dozen different brands exists in Japan for Choji oil. We offer the one used at the Minosaka workshop when they have to maintain Shinkens.

As Iaito are made of Zinc/Aluminium alloy, it does not require oil maintenance but may help to nourish the wooden Saya from the inside when applied regularly. This traditional oil is available in two sizes (M and L) and is labeled with the Kanji for "Sword Oil".
