Short Hakkaku Furibo (Octagonal Shape) - Red Oak

Short Octagonal Hakkaku Furibo - Akagashi

Made in Japan (Kyushu)

Red Oak only

This small Furibo is very popular in Japan for indoor training at home. It will, of course, not replace the practice with a "real" Suburito or a more classic Furibo, but it is a great tool to one handedly build-up muscles.

  • Choice of wood species: Red oak only
  • Available finish: Oil polish (finished by the workshop)
  • Manufacturing workshop: Aramaki
Octagonal Hakkaku Furibo
Weight ~850 g
Length ~65 cm
Blade length 45 cm
Tsuka length 20 cm
Tsuka diameter 37 mm

*Due to the hand-made manufacturing, color and weight may vary slightly from one weapon to another

Disclaimer

The Suburito are designed to work on muscular strength and physical power. Suburi practice can be beneficial to all practitioners, however, it must be done, at least initially, supervised by a teacher. Improper use of the Suburito can quickly lead to tendinitis, shoulder and back pain etc.
