Iaito Minosaka Jidai Koshirae

The Jidai Koshirae is an high end Iaito, fully order-made, crafted from scratch in Japan with a sand-casted bubble-free zinc/aluminum alloy blade. This model has a "standard" blade for an average weight. It results in a classic Iaito balance, centered toward the Tsuba, and should be suitable for all practitioners. It is an excellent Iaito for beginners and intermediate alike, who have enough budget to acquire a weapon of higher quality with customization.

Within the Minosaka lineup, the Jidai model is an entry level model. It features high quality Fuchi & Kashira, but a rather basic Saya finish for the Kuroro and Kuroishime lacquer and a simpler finish on the blade details than on higher models.
The Jidai Koshirae is an excellent iaito for beginners who have enough budget to acquire a weapon of higher quality that allows some customization. This is our most popular model with beginners.

The Jidai Koshirae has a fixed Fuchi/Kashira made of brass and decorated with a Ishime (grainy/stonny) pattern. We usually recommend "Sakura" Menuki with this model along with a Namako Sukashi Tsuba and a black cotton braiding so as to stay true to the simplicity of the Jidai period. But given that the "Jidai style" is extremely diverse and includes very different Koshirae styles, the workshop has no specific recommendation for the options. Feel free to customize this model to your liking.

Also available in short size Wakizashi Iaito: Wakizashi Iaito Minosaka Jidai Koshirae.
