Iaito Minosaka Toppei Koshirae
The Toppei Koshirae is a style of assembling, dating back to the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate (end of Edo era). Its main feature is the Hiramaki braiding and therefore, it will not be possible to modify the braiding on this model. The Toppei Koshirae also presents on its Saya a large wrought iron Kojiri. On the original assembly, the hexagonal Tsuba Hanjiro has the interest of blocking the Iaito when it is laid on the ground and thus prevents it from rolling.
The deluxe Toppei Koshirae is fitted with a Silk Sageo without additional cost. Silk offers a better durability compared to cotton.
This Iaito is handmade in Japan at the "Minosaka" forge using 100% Japanese materials. All accessories such as Tsuba, Menuki, Saya, etc. are also produced in Japan at traditional workshops specialized in the manufacturing of accessories for Shinken (real Katana). Particular attention has been paid to details during the manufacturing of this high-end model.
